WELCOME to Kennel KINKADE

Kennel Kinkade is owned and run by me; Sylvia Granlund together with my husband and "kennel help" Lars Kristian, our boys Wilmer (3 years old) and Emmet (3 months), and our 3 dogs living at home: our MinPins MOCHA and UMA, and our big baby PHONAK (Irish Wolfhound).
An aditional gang of very promesing MinPin's owned by the kennel, lives with their families and our friends.
Sylvia works as a pharmacist at the Hospital Pharmacy in Trondheim, and Lars Kristian has a degree in IT and works for a National computer firm called Matiq. 
 

We live in a quiet area of Trondheim, Norway. In addition to a big yard we have grassy hills and a little wood as our closes neighbour, which the dogs are free to enjoy every day.

	The dogs are our joy and passion. Where we go, they go! Sylvia has owned and trained active with dogs since 1991, and we bought our first dog (an Irish Wolfhound) together in 2003. After 2 years of careful planning, dreaming and waiting, our first MinPin JEAN DARK OLIV-IA arrived in 2006.

We feel it's important to stimulate our dogs both mentally and physically, and we participate in obedience, agility and trekking with our dogs. We've fallen in love with the Miniature Pinscher which is an alert, easy trainable, family oriented breed.

	MinPin's have few health problems, adapt to most situations and are easy to cope with because of their small size. But do not be fooled completely by their sweet apearence! The term "a big dog in a small body" suits them perfectly! The MinPin is a tough little dog who can endure long walks in rough terrain and will go through hell and high water for its family.

HIGH QUALITY MinPin's according to the FCI standard  with EXCELLENT HEALTH and MENTALITY will be a breeding goal for us. Dogs, they and their familys history regarding health, mentality and physical features will be checked  thoroughly before we decide to breed.

PHYSICAL FEATURES will always be a subjective opinion within the standard and every breeder will have their own preferences. But most HEALTH issues can be documented objectivly through vetrinary tests. Our breeding stock will always be screened for patella luxation and inherited eye desieses with the result FREE of both before beeing mated.
MENTALITY will be a big issue in our breeding, especially since we've experienced the horrible loss of our first Irish Wolfhound due to poor mentality ourselves. We will work hard to breed confident MinPins who function well both as a family member and in enviorments with a higher stress level, such as at obedience/agility competitons, dog shows etc.
